>>65189049>1. Get idea
It helps to some if they specify a certain genre, but for others that is just limiting. Find your own creative process. Try to think in options, and choices. Maybe even builds if you try to be ahead of the game.
Don't worry if an idea is half-baked. It is better to have it on paper and discard it later than never even considering it.>2. Write it down, add to it, work on it
Ideas in the bus stop, the train, bed, or just work/class can come all the time. Maybe you'll just thinking about options in your coya and write them down haphazardly for a week, or maybe it will be fast.>3. Start to collect images
Try to find images that convey your ideas, maybe you'll find nifty ones that give you new ideas that you didn't consider before. And at last but not least; relatively consistent artwork.>4.Organize
If it didn't became apparent in step 1&2, then separate the choices you already have into categories.
Maybe you will add more choices to previously scant categories, because now that you have a category in mind, you immediately have choice ideas. Or maybe you will drop categories, because you don't have enough ideas to form a proper category.
I suppose general graphical design comes here too, like font, and background color, but you can switch those around later.>5.Repeat step 2-4 until you feel like the cyoa is complete and well-rounded enough>6.Balance choices
Important that you only get to this once you are not adding more ideas. Because new options can imbalance everything else, making this work completely futile.>7.Final touches
Spellcheck, version number, author name, and final graphical touches.
