Full Trasmutation and Witchery + 3 levels of Consortation
Potions (2x Panacea, 1x Phoenix)
Getting the wand to level two would cost a few thousand including shipping, for level three I'd need to spend 6-8k according to Alibaba. Considering how I can make money from the skill itself, it's a bargain.
As for level 4, it's twice as much considering I can get ebony for 15€/kg.
Ebony as an alternative to ivory, seriously? The writer doesn't realize how massive the difference in value is, especially with ivory trade being basically illegal.
It's the difference between "practically impossible" and "somewhat expensive".
The Wand can't get to level 5 of course, but any upgrade before that is perfectly feasible, and will pay off as an investment.
Transmutation seems like the best magic. Compared to the others it's simple, easy, and not that expensive, especially since it has real utility and can make money. Of course most of what you get from it can be obtained without magic, which is the one drawback. But it also means it's easy to prove.
Witchery is pretty big on utility too, and it works really well with transmutation especially for hiding/transport.
Only downside is that the "immortality" perk from the transmutation school is pretty damn awful, compared to that of really *any* other school.
One year per litre of blood? Even just one litre is going to make you sick. Assuming you can do it in smaller increments, you can safely donate 1400ml of blood per year. So if I constantly do this at the rate I could safely donate blood, I will barely be able to get younger. And there is NO skill to remove diseases, make me tougher against damage, or give me any kind of invulnerability. It's kind of sad that the other level 5 skill I chose essentially makes the effect of this agelessness completely useless since it covers that AND gives me resilience against accidental damage. At least I got the potions.
