Acolyte Fio'La Vespid Nar'un crouched below a steam conduit as he took a moment to catch his breath. His mandibles clicked together in a ragged staccato, a sign of his blessing from the star gods. From a young age his mutations had been hard to disguise, so for years he had lived in the bowels of the Earth Caste gun casing factory until the day he was large enough to be introduced not as the Tau he was but as a Vespid with a gene defect. Large Kroot followed behind the Si'Mo Fire Warriors, covered head to toe in thick furs despite the tropical climate of the city. One of the Kroot had stopped mid stride, lifting its beak in the air as if smelling something and seemed to look in Na'Run's direction. Impossible of course, for Na'run had been several floors above the thoroughfare and carrying rancid waste to a nearby chute. It would be impossible to make him out. Or so he thought.....
