Interesting. I don’t think I’ve seen other CYOAs like this one before. It’s definitely getting a build.
Brewer’s Palms, Non-Threatening, Education, Medicine, Charm. Nothing too special about me, you know. Just your friendly traveling doctor. There’s never a shortage of maladies, and when times are tough I make ends meet by selling my surgical whiskey.
Charms and Wards. Adventurers come down with the strangest maladies, and many are frighteningly contagious. I’ve assembled this collection over time, scrimping and saving as I go. Cost me a pretty penny, but I haven’t had to cut off an extra eye in months.
Book of Lists. I received this from my teacher when I first set off to the borders. It’s kept patients alive more times than I can count, and the directions are better than any map.
Smoking Pipe. A gift from a witch whose fingers I saved. I’ve debated giving it up, but after I soothed an angry orc into relaxing her wounded shoulder long enough to stitch it up, and managed to do so without my hands shaking, it’s been a welcome friend. And it makes me look contemplative when I’m trying to answer hard questions.
Minnie Walden. I’ve patched this spirited lass up more times than I can count, and she’s always good for a hot meal in return. And good company for sharing a bottle with.
Constance. I don’t know what I’d do without her. She keeps me in herbs, and has taught me things I’d never have known otherwise. And I know I’ve felt safer since she’s been seen traveling with me - last time I was robbed of supplies, I found them outside my inn door with an apology note.
Elise. She’s also a lifesaver, but in a different way - she’s helped me get to patients who’d have died if I’d just made my rounds. Plus, we do good business selling medicine, and I often send her to pick me up supplies. I get a good deal on her services, too - I think she likes the smell of my pipe.
Not like that.
