>>63758606>Wotc has little to no power over Commander banlists
For now, all they need to do is say "and we're sanctioning commander side events" and you'll see how fast everyone jumps on their banlist, and tournaments devolve into degeneracy. >power creeping the pre-cons is actually a good thing
Yes, power creeping the cards in the deck, but all wotc does is staple retarded abilities to the commanders, see Derevi, Oloro, Mizzix, Meren. Commanders like these invalidated others in their categories, which is fine from a competitive standpoint but commander players in general are big babies and will complain the second they see the same thing twice in one night. We're in the modern general, we're fine with competition and optimized lists. but people who are "commander only" who don't even know how to play regular 60 card magic (and they do exist in spades) hate competition, they hate having to optimize lists, they hate the fact that most good commander decks start with 1 sol ring, 8 other mana rocks, 5 on-theme/color tutors, 7 draw/filter, 8 removal. They hate that people workshop one list online until it's efficient.
