So... I want you to imagine this.
The Mensans and their Manpower Incorporated have been trying to crack the treecats' inherent power for a while now. They also do some pretty shady shit, at the behest of their leader Albrecht Detweiler who has in turn been trying to engineer some seriously advanced technology as far as this universe is concerned. His company sells genetically engineered slaves and he kind of considers himself something of a big deal, all the signs of a megalomaniac.
Then one of the treecats escapes. A little concerning, but just send out the squads.
At least until a huge ship of completely unnatural design shows up. It moves in ways that completely defy the naval broadside style of combat, and is not only seen using weapons that his group was secretly trying to design but also uses technology that is totally unheard of such as teleporters. Worse, it moves much faster than normal and has its own FTL methods and so it's completely untraceable. All while the first transmission has that damned cat on a seat.
The cat explains that while they were trying to crack into its mind, the experiments let it see into theirs. See their plans, their designs, their weapons. It knew that it would need to do more than escape. It needed to truly deliver vengeance, for one specific reason: Albrecht thinks himself a god. He's so high on his own ego that he will do whatever it takes and sacrifice anyone to win. Such a person cannot be allowed to win.
...and everyone knows that the actions of God is what creates the Devil that opposes them. This cat shall be that devil.
Cue the Mensans getting their shit kicked in at random all to shut his antics down, while laughing maniacally about the technological supremacy of a cat.
