>>65712878>Have there ever been any humans that could stand on par with a GD like the aelves and formerly elves? AoS or WHF
Mostly, no, apart from maybe a few legendary lords with both extreme skill and direct godly empowerment like King Louen or Archaon, and even then I'd still give the Greater Demons the edge. Otherwise, GDs shit on any human combatant, even if they were an amazing duellist.
Also, even back in WHF, even while elves were usually superior combatants to humans in both skill, experience and speed, any non-legendary elven lord would also be absolutely stomped by a Greater Demon, with the legendary ones like Tyrion or Malekith probably being on par, or slightly above their human counterparts (their skill, experience and better wargear would even out their lack of direct godly empowerment that many human legendaries have).
The guy in your pic is Anearion the Defender, literally the most powerful elf to have ever lived, and probably the single most powerful character in all of WHF, and while he managed to take on 4 Greater Demons and win, he needed the help of one of the, if not THE most powerful ancient dragon in all of WHF and the Sword of Khaine (the most powerful weapon in WH, even stronger than Ghal Maraz and the only blade capable of killing gods) to pull it off.
Tl;dr: GDs are the apex predators of Warhammer, or at least the should be imo. They should be absolutely terrifying to deal with on the battlefield, literal gods of war; however, I find in AoS they unfortunately dont really translate that to the tabletop all that well.
