The argument of wizards making other party members redundant has been a thing since 3rd edition. I'm not sure what game you're playing, but people hating wizard players isn't anything new. Wizards have ALOT of power to fuck up a plot with fairly little effort. >In before "HURRDURR you're a hsit DM, just put anti-magic zone everywhere lol!"
Hard-countering a player's class features like that isn't fun. The problem isn't the DM, it's the class-design and the class's niche being "fucking everything". There's a reason common advice in Pathfinder for wizards is "ban core", because alot of the third-party classes like Dread Necromancer, Summoner, Beguiler, ect are way more focused and healthy for the gameplay.
