Yeah I built the list for an anon who said he was working with just a box of Acolytes, Neophytes, and guardsmen, hence the numerous one-of weapon choices. I defer to your judgement on the list as like I said, never played GSC before. Mining laser was more of a "fun-of" choice and potentially something to draw fire away from the real threats, the acolytes & metamorphs - while also potentially deleting 1 thing off the battlefield each turn. I decided to take 2 metamorphs as the box only comes with the 3 special weapons for acolytes and I felt they performed better than default acolytes.
I totally agree that adding Aberrants and Purestrains would be sweet.
Based off your suggestions here's what I'm thinking:
-switch the pick to a power maul (-2 pts)
-switch the mining laser to a seismic cannon or grenade launcher (-1 pt)
-switch the current heavy spec to the heavy stubber guy
Then that leaves a 3 point gap but I frankly don't see a anything that could fill it.
