But seriously, its okay if you like them, but I personally don't. Infact, like I said before, I dislike the realistic scale of the miniatures in comparison to heroic scale miniatures. I think heroic allows for greater emphasis on details, and higher definition, perhaps at the cost of making them look a bit cartoonish; but the trade off is that you can add more definition and leave more room to contrast with details. You can have defined muscles and cartoonish, but characterful faces.
Realism makes models far too small, and squashes too many details into one small package to the point where they melt together, at least in my eyes. Even Perrys newest kits still suffer from this detail bleed effect.
It could also be that most of the paintjobs I see on historicals are also rather bland and muted; theres really nothing to catch the eye.
