Thanks anon>Would they need to contain a piece of the deceased or one of its precious belongings?
The preference is to use a bone of the dead one, although skin, tongue and the whole skull are also possibilities.>>69284498>Is there a reason why the principalities are run by oligarchs? Are the princes still around and if so what purpose do they serve if all real power belongs to the sorcerers?
They are divine pseudofigureheads. After the proper ritual, a prince's health is connected to his land. If one suffers, the other suffers as well. In that case, it is possible to perform a cleansing cerimony in which the prince is sacrificed so the principality becomes healthier. Each prince also commands a divine serpent which serves as a counter/deterrent against powerful threats such as dragons.
