Ok /5eg/, this might sound a bit off the wall, but bear with me.
I am running a one-shot soon that I want to be mostly driven by the players. Here's a simple version of my idea:>after character generation, ask players to allocate a +0, +5, and +10 to Describe Plot, Describe Monster, and Describe Scene>every time a plot point, major monster, or big scene comes up, every player rolls to describe it>player with the highest roll total gets to describe the thing in however much detail they want>I as the DM balance it on the fly to be as challenging and justified as it should be
Any way this could go wrong? My players all have strong understanding of the rules and I am a DM with a ton of experience so that shouldn't be a problem.
Also, if you can think of another description skill like "Describe NPC" then let me know. I have a more elaborate plan for allocating the skills but I didn't want to bog down this post
