>>9693776>what field of science are you doing your research?Biomedical, specifically gene therapy. But I don't want to get too specific because I'm paranoid.
>story?Basically, I bought a 'tool' from this company, approx. costed me ~$3.5K, it ws advertised to work but I was having a very hard time to get it to work. I've proven to them that other tools I have worked successfully (from the same company) but this new one wasn't working as intended.
So for months they kept telling me that "have you tried this? have you tried that?" etc.
And it takes several weeks to just test one aspect of this tool. It's eaten up a lot of my time. I kept asking for a refund but about 5-6 months after I purchased this tool, I was getting fed up. So I sent them a 3000 word email detailing my country's consumer laws and how I'm entitled for a full refund, and days later they actually listen. Either they got scared or fed up with me, either way I'm slightly relieved to get that ~$3.5K back.
Mind you, the refund was just the price of the tool and NOT the hours, labour, and reagents used to try to get the tool working.
I mentioned earlier that I had another tool from the company that was working, but this new tool was about 100x less efficient (yes I calculated the ~100x), not exaggeration).
Sorry for the rant, I'm still pissed lol.
