Lottery winning probability

So /sci/,

I have this math teacher friend, who claims that playing the same numbers over and over again in your lifetime greatly increases the odds of you winning the lottery, as compared picking different numbers every time.

For the sake of simplicity lets say that you can pick 7 different numbers from 1 to 40. That makes the probability of getting all the 7 numbers right [1/few millions]. There is a lottery draw every week.

Do you greatly increase the odds of winning the lottery always picking the same 7 numbers every week over the course of a few decades, instead of picking random (different) numbers every week?
