I’m sorry, I don’t see how they contradict. The whole is perfect because it displays the truths of existence. The particular is imperfect, in the case of an organism, because of its anatomy, etc. Genetic imperfection is a necessary truth within a world that displays all the truths of existence. So you’re using the word “perfect” in two different ways, with two different sets of criteria.

It’s not about aesthetics, but truth. A world containing particular things without flaws, is, as a whole, flawed, because it does not display truth. A world without suffering and imperfections etc is extremely limited, not to mention irrational, and imperfect in that it does not display truth.
