What are you talking about?
He has his own law, he was a god of experimentalism (this means that even if he couldn't propose new ways of thinking about the world he was a fucking genius thinking how to test theories) therefore he understood physics as much as the guys who proposed stuff and even came up with better ideas to tweak theories and make them fit better.

Because the branch of study he was in is now dead. There is no electrical scientist left. Physicisist rule the world and electrical scientists are considered lesser.

Even though we are still all operating on the same electrical grid from a hundred years ago, and almost everything you own has electricity in it.
