/pol/ has always been more or less shit, but it used to be very much like 8c h a n /pol/, where people still actually discuss politics and meaningful threads dont get systematically slided/derailed.
Still, there have been 2 events over the past few years that completely ruined anything that was still worthwhile about the 4chan version:
1: Trump getting elected which brought a gigantic influx of normie shitters and people who swallow the hook, line and the sinker when it comes to divide-and-rule murrican 2-party clown fiesta.
2: Pizzagate. That was the most extreme case of damage control exercised in 4chan so far and most of the threads around the topic got systematically derailed and slided, ever since that event the amount of interracial porn increased 10-fold and certain topics have become impossible to discuss without extreme lunatics shitting up and derailing the thread with preposterous unfounded claims, always in similar fashion.
