>>10314652I was 24 when I started, so close enough. I'm 26, almost 27 now and in my third year studying physics and mathematics.
It has been and continues to be challenging. I certainly have no social life with other students and only drive to campus to attend lecture or laboratory. I've been working ~35 hours per week, too, though I am trying to bring my work down to only 20 hours or so for this semester. It's very stressful, but I've actually been rather successful so far. My first semester or so I kind of fucked around some, but was also learning how to be a student again. Got some Bs I shouldn't have, but since then I've been fairly strong. currently have a 3.73 GPA overall and hope to bring that up to a 3.8 by graduation. It seems realistic if Quantum Mechanics doesn't end me. It's driving me crazy this semester, but it seems like I always have one or two classes per semester that give me a panic attack.
The benefit of all this is that life will just be that much easier when I finish the degree. When I land a nice job at industry all I'll have to do is work at my job. No more 15 hour long days bouncing between school and work and running ragged trying to squeeze in time for homework and study.
