I just don't get it. You make one simple mistake with a patient and everyone loses their minds, this guy literally killed more than 250 people and no one even noticed for like 30 years!

How the hell did this happen without someone asking? is the British health care managed by monkeys with coats?

How much exercise do you get at work as a medical imaging tech compared to a doctor? I'm actually really worried I'll get fat once I start doing CT. My current job has me walking 20000 steps a shift.

Aren’t you gonna be made obsolete by neural networks within the next five to ten years? I mean they ALREADY outperform even experts so it really is only a matter of adoption rate at this point.

No? Do you seriously think automation can somehow position a patient, of which most are obese and can barely move? And the current automation on CT and shit is patchy at best, so you still need to track muscles and arteries manually to complete the scan. How do you expect ultrasound to work with automation? Who's going to handle contrast, cannulation, swallows etc.?

So, how pedantic has everyone's ethical and potentially problematic situation training been? I've been taught that I have to ask for permission to touch a patient before I do so much as check their pulse, and if they show any sign of apprehension I should go get a staff member of the same gender or race to do it instead. Meanwhile when I'm actually on the field getting taught by proper staff I've been taught to 'really dig in' to palpate bony structures and shit, and every single patient has been fine with this, even when it's painful.

I'm going to a job that has top secret clearance and essentially wrote down a clean bill of health because I felt like I was fine. I just realized that someone might be looking up my medical records and I didn't write something down because I didn't think about it. This something I shouldn't have forgotten but did and I'm super scared because if they find it they'll call me a liar and I might face legal action as a result.
How long will a hospital keep a major injury document? I fucked up, I fucked up bad, I don't know who to talk to... Head injury, I think. I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was bad and I shouldn't have forgotten it.
