We can barely survive extreme conditions on our own planet. Our ape bodies aren't meant for space. Were gonna need Human augmentation to the point where those beings who will travel the stars can scarcely be called human by us. It makes MORE sense economically to just modify the humans than to spend more time and energy keeping our current meat bodies alive on exoplanets. Like many people in this thread correctly stated, we already have to tech to traverse our solar system, its the US SURVIVING part where we get stuck.
If were truly to leave Earth, were gonna have to leave humanity behind.
