As somebody who has experienced both German and American universities I can clearly see a difference in the level of education.
In general you will find that studying in America is easy and the requirements to pass are extremely lenient. Also they don't take scientific requirements all to serious in America. Especially in papers you are free to make up any amount of bullshit without consequences.
When you are studying in Germany, be prepared to study 24/7 to just achieve passing grades. Negligence in adhering to regulations and rules of scientific work can easily come back to bite you. Papers are extremely strict and in general on a much higher scientific level.
To put it in perspective: I learned how to write scientific research while I was studying chemistry in a German university and the complexity was staggering to adhere to rules of science.
Then I had to write a few "research papers" in America. But since I was busy partying, I had to just write some low quality and way too short shit I made up on the spot in one evening, that wouldn't even be close to passing grade in Germany. But guess what - I got the highest possible grades on those papers and the professor saying, while it wasn't exactly original, it was the most well written paper they have ever read...
So if you want an easy time, go to America. Just don't expect to actually have learned anything from that. But at least you get to wave around your degree afterwards.
