What is the logic behind wasting thousands of hours making awful worthless beginner drawings instead of trying to get it right the first time? If you were building a house you wouldn't just throw bricks into a pile over and over until after 10,000 hours somehow a house appeared. So why is there such an emphasis on mindless drawing until by magic you somehow improve? I'm starting to thing it is a clever gatekeeping ruse by established artists to keep out new competition by advising them to waste their time and hopefully they get bored and give up.
