It's good to have goals but everyone has their own path. It's easier to break it down into small daily steps than look at the top all the time. There will always be someone better and younger than you, but what matters is that you grow and reach your personal goals, and after you reach them it won't matter how long it took. Basically, learn to appreciate what you have and enjoy the process. I understand you, but looking back, agonizing after such things didn't have any pros, only put me in negative headspace, and positive attitude will make you go further.
