Does "making it" mean making a living from your art? If so 99.9% of ic has never made it. For me, if you can create decent art and also enjoy it, you've already made it.

Alarmingly enough most people on here consider "making it" to be having a patreon or a bunch of instagram followers.

I agree with the spirit of your comment though, it's something to do for fun or fulfillment and honestly one of the purest activities you can do. There are way too many threads here about not making or or sneering like a bitter cunt at other artists and little to none about how to get at your expression better.

Having a lot of followers who expect you to draw in a certain way is actually a burden. You will also be constantly concerned about maintaining quality for everything you do. Except this standard has never been defined and is arbitrary between different people. The main goal of art was never to cater to a mass audience so they can give you money. If you manage to make money, it only speaks to your business skills. I have seen talented Artists that don't know how to sell their work and also amateurs making millions because they found a market.
