What do you think of Alex Grey's art? I can't decide if I like it or not. Once in a while I see something interesting but never anything good enough even to buy a poster of. I could be convinced he's a genius and it's above my head if you had a good argument but most ofthis stuff just looks like generic fractals that teenagers draw on their notebooks in high school. His anatomy never looks accurate. His colors are always basically just rainbow, shading is cartoony, and I feel like when I bring this up people always make excuses for it. Like "oh dude, no you are just ignorant of the (egyptian, myan, indian, tibetan, etc.) traditional art that he studied for decades while on meditating on psychedelics. chakra something something. Can any fans of his work explain what I'm missing?
