>>3723430I fell for this meme 6 months ago as a total beginner. Here's a review.
This list is garbage.
1. Useless shit. The level of kindergarten coloring book. Don't waste your time on it.
2. Bad book. Robertson sucks at writing. His understanding of perspective fundamentals is really wack. His geometric "hacks" are pretty useful though.
Shouldn't be a first perspective book for sure.
In hindsight i think this book had a net negative impact on my perspective knowledge by making it harder to learn perspective properly later.
3. Alright book as an intro into composition.
4. Loomis is not good as a first book on gesture. It assumes a lot of knowledge you shouldn't have if you a total beg who is just following this meme list.
5. Trash. Belongs to the same garbage bin as "Keys to Drawing".
6. Too soon for loomis as i said before.
7. Bad for gesture, but fine for learning anatomy if you watch it at the same as his video course. Lackluster without it.
8. Didn't read it. So no idea.
9. Another example of Robertson hackery. Not really good. Mistakes on the fundamental level. Improperly photoshopped, physically incorrect photos as examples.
10. Fine as intro to colors.
11. Didn't read. So no idea, but most likely garbage because of the hack Robertson.
