The Crooked Line needs more than that from an initiate. The Crooked Line is a support system for those with unreasonable and fantastic hopes for their work. If you suffer from this you know you cannot turn it off, even when the disappointment of failure and mediocrity make it more pain than joy to create. Did that resonate with you? Perhaps this is the path you seek. Art making, like any of the ancient disciplines, forces one to look at their whole self and conquer not only their hand, but their body, mind, and soul.

Initiates are given one on one mentoring, detailed critique and discussion free of charge. This is done in the hopes of producing a paragon- a truly great practitioner whose work is equal parts skill, sensitivity, and purpose. Periodic evaluations remove the unmotivated and opportunistic from the initiate ranks. Higher ranks receive greater rewards and privileges. Few make it into the fold.
