A bit late in the thread, but if you tell yourself you're not good enough to draw like a random jap, you'll never push yourself to be good enough to do anything.
Do you think it's just impossible for some reason? That they've got superior genes or ingrained culture, that somehow makes it so a master like Michelangelo couldn't draw anime if he wanted to?
You don't become good by wondering if you'll succeed. If you want to become good, forget about your end point, and focus on your progress. All artistic mastery is, is gradual, step-by-step improvement until you achieve something that is greater than the sum of its parts.
