Read
That's it, read as much as you can and anything that you can. Scenes from the books you read make great mental images. Picture in your mind the scene of Don Quixote attacking the windmills he imagines to be giants. Imagine Ishmael gazing upon the whale, filled with hatred and bloodlust. Draw what you think it might look like. That's it
Just think about scenes from books and draw them. Most of the times characters are in impossible situations and they act and move in odd ways. Capture those movements, sketch out their bodies and gestures.
>But I wanna draw something original !Okay now combine the scenes from Don Quixote and Moby Dick. Maybe the knight is battling a horde of whales covered in windmill pieces. Or Ishmael on a giants back fighting a whale ridden by Don Quixote. Thats it. That's drawing from imagination
Combining things you know into something new and weird. You wanna draw weird and alien landscapes you have to have a database in your mind. Soak up everything you can because everything is based upon learned knowledge. The new and interesting is created in the familiar
