>>3239136It's a huge middle finger to anyone who loves Star Wars, with Disney essentially telling people "let go of the past, the old stuff is dead, this the NEW Star Wars" all the while failing to develop any of the characters, or the plot, and completely tossing away any of the mystery set up by VII. It is a collosal waste of time whose only accomplishment is using the Star Wars brand to push an agenda of cultural Marxism, in a completely contrived and incoherently convenient story full of holes that feels like bad fanfiction.
If you thought Force Awakens was bad due to its shitty story, this is 10x worse, as it doesn't even try to hide the bad writing, but instead boldly wears it like a badge, and attacks anyone who tries to point it out as "a salty nerd, a fanboy, a misogynist, a racist Nazi, etc..."
Webm related for example is an unquestionable paragon of the "light side" despite her outbursts. And her prowess and skill is handwaved through some sort of cosmic affirmative action in which "the light side tries to balance itself to match the dark side." In other words, the dumbass writers failed to understand the lore the George wrote, and instead interpreted it as they saw fit in order to validate their OC Mary Sue character. And that's only the tip of the iceberg. I won't even get into how they took a big fat dump on one of the most beloved and iconic heroes in cinema. Mark Hamill himself says it best though:
