Dude fuck boxes. Fuck whatever silly exercize you think will train you in some dumb way. Just draw the stuff you want to get better at drawing. If that means people, or dogs or cats then draw those. Try it in all sorts of ways, any way that you enjoy.

No the OP but, what if you keep getting the lesson wrong? I'm having tons of trouble with the rotating cubes exercise and i cant seem to get it right.

Figure out why and where you fail to do the thing, that's what it's all about. It's learning.
Maybe just post work and ask for critique if you're stuck. Alternatively use perspective guidelines for rotating the boxes at first until you can do it without them.
