So, I like drawing but I HATE HATE polishing. Fixing the anatomy. Like if I'm working on a character I wanna be done with that character in 5 mins rather than 1 hour. Like the polishing stage is always a pain in the ass. Anyone else relate? Like I get satisfaction after I polished the drawing but the actual process of doing it is unenjoyable.

Try a style that doesn't need a lot of polishing? Like if you don't like polishing, don't try to be a concept artist and draw in a more comic-y style or a rough style you like. Idk.

Also what I said was not necessarily cell shaded styles. You have comics using rough styles.

Same here.
Try to see the rendering process as a mere extension of the drawing process that you like - it's basically the same.
You can get the same satisfaction that you get from capturing a gesture or a quick pose when you capture the highlight or the soft transition on a muscle just right.

If you can nail anatomy and foreshortening on the first go, then that's a good sign you're improving.
