Is there a video equivalent to the curriculum in pic related? Just a set of videos and tutorials that teach you all the shit you need to know to get up and running: Gesture, composition, anatomy, perspective, landscape techniques, drawing from observation, etc etc

Is anyone here currently attempting this? Any record of anyone finishing even one of these "groups"? Not that I doubt it'd make anyone really good but I don't think anyone could get through that many books without getting burnt out.

When you strip away all the fluff from it the only actual information in the sticky is "draw everyday, read these books" and then tells you to go read K2D or drawing on the right side, and then loomis and some other stuff. Essentially all the books in that 11 step image that gets plastered around all the time, which, I assume, the OP image is an improvement of.

I'm an adhd riddled dweeb and reading books, especially books with mountains of fluff and bullshit explanations, gives me cancer and just drives me to procrastinate. So I'm going to dodge the sticky and find a method that gets me where I need to be without me having to cure an incurable mental disorder.

I went through them but not in the order of this graphic or by groups. Take it at your own pace, these are probably the best bang for you time sources out there. Draw as you go, don't just study.

I spent two months in group 1. Finished Huston's book but only followed Dodson's up to chapter 3 because I thought my observational drawing wasn't too bad and I wanted to focus on just one book. I think you just need to start slow and make sure you practice everyday, even if just for half an hour.

Robertson's book alone makes group 2 look insurmountable, though.

the book is a waste, i didn't find it helpful at all and zoomed past it. that and framed ink are the only ones i didn't touch. bottom right is mostly reference and learning, except for hampton which should be included as an option in group 1.

Not him, but draw the art you want to as well. Some people think they have to "earn" the right to draw their waifus or whatever the fuck. Which is just boring.

Draw the subjects you want as you go. Your art'll suck now, but you can always redraw it later.

So like, if i have 2 hours to draw, I can use one for studying perspective and use the other hour to draw some waifus even using easy tutorials on YouTube? I plan on tackling figure drawing properly eventually anyways.

It takes years of mileage to learn to draw figures well. Waiting to be good at it before you learn composition is a joke since composition has rules you can learn relatively quickly and the rest is just applying it to every piece you draw.

if you like digital art then the first one is decently ok
the only beef I have with it is recommend dynamic bible instead of the dynamic sketching course
I also recommend the Huston course over his book
you might also find more digital painting resource on schoolism (craig/lighting course/texture course/ nathan course) which can go in depth on thing
