The monster part should have been just enough strength for some action scene in the finale, while the most important stuff would be who really should get the throne. Meteora is the true successor in the line, has her motivation as her life got kinda ruined and faked, and with her being part monster Star might decide her rule could improve the situations of monsters - before realizing her forceful takeover would only have a negative results on the view of monsters, and those already put their hopes in better lives in Star being the queen. And so on, and so on.
At this rate it will just devolve into "big Meteora monster bad, have to defeat", with her maybe going back to human form after everything is over for a happy end.
At the very least they shouldn't have make her stupid, even if monster blood makes her feral, she had hundreds of years of experiences to become a scheming villain now.
