Networks are being shitty, spamming certain shows, but that doesn't mean that western animation is dead. There are many people loving what they have, even if me and you might not. Steven Universe sucks ass? Sure, but it's pulling in both ratings and a vocal online crowd. TTG being spammed? Fuck yes and it's retarded, but it's just part of some plan the network has, which seems to be less focus on the network.
CN has always had experimental ideas, this one seems more logical in the age of digital online markets. The issue is they've spammed TTG enough to end up cancelling Regular Show, Adventure Time, Clarence, etc. It doesn't matter if you think they suck and we're better off without them, the point was they had a fan base, brought in ratings, and were variety.
Nickelodeon is pure ass right now in my opinion too, being annoyingly wacky, emoticons out the ass, and also pushing for online notice, but they haven't went the same way as CN yet, they're mixing their focus online and offline together. Same for Disney.
