I grew up reading science fiction and two authors I really liked were Orson Scott Card and Robert J Sawyer, a mormon neocon and a fedora tipping sjw respectively and while I would occasionally find myself rolling my eyes at certain bits in their stories inspired by their politics I mostly enjoyed the stories they told anyway.
Nowadays it seems that if people don't agree with every single aspect of a writers personal political outlook they refuse to read their work and furthermore demand the work be banned,demonetized,that the writer lose their job,etc.
