>>94440863>if you want to talk about nationalism, well its flimsy but i can see some sense on being proud of the achievements of your country, you pay taxes afterallYes indeed.
>but being proud of what people in another continent did because they have the same skin color as you, or shit that happened hundreds of years before your country was a country, is dumb in my opinionRace goes further than skin-colour, but that's beside the point.
They still would be more closely related to you than any other group of people, thus anything positive that they may do/have done, is inspirational, because they are in a way related to you, and thus can prove to be a positive influence, that is cemented by sameness in race/nationality.
And using the negative aspects to learn from, so that one may not make the same mistakes, like the rotten apples have done, can thus lead to a more positive self-image, and great progress.
Distance isn't a deciding factor here.
Though of course this can as well apply regardless of race/nationality, it however proves true for that too.
>i dont see it that way, your accomplishments are your own, nobody can take that away from you, all that sweat, blood and tears have valueTrue, the point being that one can be proud of themselves, but also of others they identify with, the point although not originally stated is that one can downplay either side of this coin.
>that i can certainly agree withVery pleasant to read that :3.
