>>94396074There's no way for complaining about wand designs to not sound dumb, but
S1: pretty ugly, looks too plastic and toylike even if that was the intention. Gross colors, weirdly short, somehow not really "magical" enough: like it has some cute features but doesn't look special overall.
S2: deliberately more elegant-- longer, different wings, ribbon along the staff. Color scheme is way better and the cleaved star is striking; fits both Star's sadness and screwups that season and the idea of her/a magical girl with a broken wand was fun. The fact that it kept features of the first while improving on them slightly could be seen as reflecting Star developing too
S3: around the same level of ugly as S1, maybe a bit better through looking less plastic and more magical + retaining the length of the second. Return to similar colors of the first is disappointing (golden or brighter pink would be more unique and better fit with the colors of magic shown in the series), a lot of the changes this time feel garish and random instead of improvements on a theme, like they're changing stuff just to change it this time. Diamond charger instead of heart for some reason (even Ludo's wand had a "heart" at the bottom), candy-stripe staff instead of a solid ribbon, big heart near the bell instead of a butterfly that better matched the contours, devil horns feel like overkill, the huge frilly wings are the worst part and the unnecessary purple hearts don't help since at a glance they can just look like bad shading. 1 or 2 of these changes could have worked, but all together they seem really unnatural compared to the transition between the first 2.
This is dumb and it's not actually a big deal, it doesn't affect what I think of the show at all, but I haven't been big on the new one since the day I saw it, just feels like a downgrade. Or the first, but at least that improved for a bit.
Don't have an image of all 3 but the Star wiki has a page for her wand that does
