>>93873291I would have liked the suit to stick around more too, maybe fits his design a bit more or something (contrasts more with him being a monster who could probably tear you apart if he really wanted to), but I enjoy the implications about his backstory a lot.
Before Into the Wand it felt like everyone in the fandom read a little too much into "suit = professional = used to be a gentleman/nerd?" and so had all these headcanons for his past as being, like, a butler or servant to the Butterflys, or, even more cliché, a stereotypical teenage geek (usually in the Toffee/Moon pairings) who'd wear, like glasses and sweatervests and just be kind of a loser.
Him apparently being, in canon, this more openly violent, flamboyant/edgy, possibly overconfident military leader who just openly wears skulls is hilarious to me in light of all that. Like I was never into the above headcanons at all but even I didn't see that one coming-- though some did predict his past as a warrior by how he called Ludo's monsters "soldiers" a few times in one episode.
Though going back to the efficiency expert angle I do also wish we maybe could've seen more overt manipulation, but I guess we're past that part of the story. Know it went on with Ludo last season but we only saw one side of it.
