I'll go ahead and admit ahead of time that I prefer DC, but I do like both DC and Marvel.

But was there ever a time when Marvel was head and shoulders above DC in terms of comic book quality?

The reverse seems to be the case right now. But then, Marvel seems to be doing better as far as movies go.
