>>87877228>MercuryFelt like they got the show and its general tone more than anyone else and weren't afraid to get crazy with it. Lots of little details I still catch when I look at early episodes, plus they were responsible for some of the better poses in episodes they didn't actually animate. A possible flaw is that sometimes it looked too Flash-y or whatever (it wasn't Flash but that's what people will assume), but overall I really liked it and kind of wish they were on the show longer.
>Rough DraftTraditional animation; very smooth movements and everything's on model. Characters look good pretty much all the time; the relative lack of exaggerated reactions from Mercury does kind of mean everyone's a little too cute at all times, but that also works for the tone of the show. Like them a lot too; their work on Blood Moon Ball made that a standout compared to how weird late season 1 could look.
>SugarcubeEveryone's on model and I don't really notice any blatant errors, but it's the most obviously digitally animated of possibly all of them. I've heard they're all traditionally animated but this one seems to have noticeable computer editing. Not bad at all, but not as good as it could be.
>Toon CityWas okay for what it was, but kinda shit compared to all of the above. Off-model a lot (Star looked even younger in these episodes) and errors that actually detract from the episodes (Mewberty had a few moments when the hearts all over Star's body would just randomly vanish). Really a downgrade; the outlines they typically used especially look ugly and flat to me now. Glad we won't see them again, I hope.
