Taiyang is theorized to be the symbol for the Cowardly Lion of the Wizard of Oz, the poor bastard is beaten down by one wife running away, one wife dying, his daughter losing her arm and one daughter disappearing. He is cowardly because he is tired of losing everything around him, that is his character, and for Jaune to parallel him would make no sense in that situation.
