>>86276933My dad (adopted) is British, and he lives in America. When I was in high school, our neighbor was an army veteran. My dad hadn't met the guy for months, but I did, and I don't have an accent. Never had an issue with him.
My dad finally meets the neighbor, guy didn't realize he's British. Guy off the bat treats him like shit. One day dad asks him if he could bring his dogs in at night because they bark all night and wake him up, and the neighbor responds by telling my dad he shouldn't even be here anyways and that if he doesn't like freedom he should "go back to that fucking shit country you're from."
After that, neighbor but cameras on his house directed only at our house, put trip wires up around his front lawn only on our side, and write a note on our door saying for us to leave the country. My dad came here because because he fell in love with a woman (American), and he moved with her to America because he loved her.
Xenophobia does exist anon, and the media using it as a crutch doesn't magically mean it doesn't.
