My personal beef with it really is just the massively shoe-horned retcon it tries by which she was essentially "shoved in" to the MCU. I can overlook all the other stuff, even how unlikeable they made Carol, if they had just kept her story more or less isolated from already established events.
We fucking know who Fury and Coulson are, that should be enough of a connection to the MCU. (and for most other characters, it would've been fine to be left at that, at most)
We didn't need to make the entire Avengers conception revolve around her to establish that she existed in the same universe, we didn't NEED her to be involved with the tesseract to give her powers.
I have no reason to not want Ms/Captain Marvel to be added to the MCU; in fact, I have been looking forward to it for a long-assed time. But the WAY it was done is what I take issue with
MCU Carol deserved a better origin
