I almost mistook them for other characters; Bunnicula for The Mask and Beetlejuice, but he's nothing like them.
Harold for Billy and Homer till I noticed he's far dumber and charmless.
Chester for Brainy Smurf, Twilight Sparkle, Blossom, till again I realized he's nothing like those characters. He's more like Malachi from Camp WeDon'tWantCha or Squidward from Spongebob.
Actually Patrick and Squidward are very 1:1 tie-ins to Harold and CHester.
