> the quote is an example of Zuko making excuses for himselfBullshit, Zuko had nothing at that point but his uncle, he was a disowned pariah that had just scaped an assasination atempt, lost his tripulation and was declared a traitor shortly after. He searched relentessly for the avatar for 3 years, beat an admiral to an Agni Kai, literally infiltrated a fortress to capture the avatar for hislef, and then infiltrated Zaoh's forces to beat him to the punch and capture the avatar again. He did nothing but prove himself.
>Azula had to grow up fast and coupled with the lack of human affection in her early lifeThis statement completely contradicts what has been shown to us in the shot( and even the comics). She was daddy's little girl from the get go, and she was born with talent while Zuko had to train.
>of course we have to cut the prince some slack he was an abused child and had to work hard to even partialy overcome his childhood trauma but that does not mean he was always in the right eitherNo self awareness at all. Zuko was morally balanced, respected his father and loved his mother and uncle. By the end of the series he has morally redeemed himself and chose that finishing the war and disobeying his fatehr is the right choice, he could have killed his father during the eclipse but understood that that was adding more fuelt to the fire. The whole point of Zuko's redemption is that he stood for himself and rejected the "family honor" that he so much searched for in order to do what's right.
