There's too many things that are awkward about it. Like, imagine the people that moved on and got re-married and started new families, and their spouse and kids come back to life, for example.

Like a lot of things in comics it's best to pretend it never happened or it was a normal thing, and then move on.

Saw it for the first time today. It was fine. Didn't care for what they did with Steve. Don't get why Captain Marvel wasn't more involved, and why she didn't just fucking kill Thanos. Tony's death felt pointless. But it was entertaining enough (except for the first 30~ minutes which were dull).

As a film, it does have some pacing problems, and contains so much going on that only makes sense if you've seen every single film in the series.

As a finale, holy fucking shit, it was one of the best theater experiences ever. I was so fucking pumped when everyone was showing up for the final battle and Cap finally got to say Avengers Assemble

Captain Marvel was just added and Endgame was mostly filmed at the same time when captain marvel was being filmed. CM being the most powerful though just makes for a boring character. I'm almost certain it's going to get played into somewhere. I get the feeling they're going to tie Mutants into the whole thing, with only people that got dusted and undusted having their X-genes activated. That would make it so all the muties are people who've been displaced by the 5-year timeskip fuckery, which gives them a springboard to spin their social pariah status further.

Well there are many reasons. One was to make the SJW super hero, if you believe that, the other was to makeca female superman. oh that makes sense. Also Thanos being able to take down Captain Marvel by using his power stone was a smart move kinda. I mean Could'nt thanos used the power stone with out taking it off the gauntlet? I guess it was just quick thinking that didnt really matter in the end.

Decent, great spectacle but IW was better.

Endgame would have been much better if the final fight was segmented and given a bit more time: The big 3 (and maybe Hulk, just to provide more attention to his neglected character arc) vs. Thanos could have been one part of the final battle, while all the rest of the heroes fought the rest his army.
IW's Titan fight was the best part of the 2 movies.

As hard to imagine as it may be, they could just ditch Magneto's original backstory, or ditch Magneto entirely. The concentration camps ran until 45, so even if he were like 5 years old then, he'd be in his 80s in the current MCU timeline, since it's up to 2023 now (or technically his late 70s, since he'd have been in timeout for 5 years).

If they're indelibly tied to both having Magneto and keeping his backstory, he can just not have had powers until after the snap, like everyone else, and he just sees a lot of parallels between how the newly formed mutant race is being persecuted and how he suffered in the past.

well I dont think you can say anything, its a smoking gun that creates huge plot holes. I mean having a strong female lead wasnt a bad thing but to add her this far in was a painfully obvious move to push a female power narrative. Luckily she didnt have as much as a presence in the endgame.

I maintain that there should've been at least one scene where Drax jumped in from off screen like Arya fucking Stark and stabbed Thanos in the neck. Maybe have Thanos be seconds away from killing someone prominent, maybe Thor, and Drax interrupts it. Then when Peter and Thor were doing the little back-and-forth, you could've tossed in a joke where Drax thinks he should be the leader because he single-handedly killed Thanos (bonus points if he save Thor then, because he can bring that up too).

The first two acts are good but overly long. Some weird design decisions like making the Hulk look and sound like Ruffalo, which is stupid since he's big as Hulk. Hulk sounding smart while looking and sounding like Hulk would be a better contrast. Not using the mask/eye tech from Deadpool with Clint Ronin. That mask with the window looks awful and uncool. The third act is the biggest issue. The blowout is full of character moments and unnatural scenes that slow the huge fight down and makes it look small. The girl moments in both IW and EG have a subtlety of a sledgehammer. Not enough moments like Cap using the hammer/ Dr Strange vs Thanos/ Iron Man vs Thanos that would make me want to rewatch it in a long time since it's also 3 hours.

It was a good movie to spend the afternoon. However, if you don't watch it in your lifetime, there really isn't a problem. You won't lose anything important, except if you're in highschool or a lower level.

Talking about dramatic literature, Endgame is great in one aspect: anecdotic structure. Hell, they show us the culmination of a 10 years saga. However, that kind of perfection is the minimal skill that you need to make a great piece of dramatic literature. Sophocles, Shakespeare, Ibsen, Chejov, O'Neill and Arthur Miller had that skills... and more: they had a deep understanding of the human soul. Endgame doesn't have more.

The true virtue about Endgame has nothing to do with art but bussines. The geniuses behind how profitable is the MCU are the real heroes here. The MCU is a dream of a product.

The final battle scene needed more, I don't know how to properly make this statement but the battles in infinity war were better overall, I guess too much was going on at once with multiple characters while infinity war was only a small handful so more detailed

I did not expect it to essentially be a three hour victory lap, and the nostalgia it evoked was pretty great. Steve and Tony got absolutely perfect endings. It took its characters in interesting directions, subverted expectations in fun ways, and was generally a really good action/adventure flick full of clever little moments and character arcs.

Also, I don't think I've ever seen a movie make a British audience clap like this one did.

It wasn't just made to add something to the story, it's also a matter of contract with Scarlett Johanson. After that she'll play the main role for the Black Widow movie and she'll move on to different roles because actors want to play different roles for many movies. Same reasons why Steve fucked off to the past despite it making him act ooc according to many fans, or why Tony died despite Carol or many more characters being able to use the gauntlet with only injuries as a result.

That's a Nebula from an alternate timeline. Just like how Gamora from the previous movies was never saved and she's still deader than dead, but the one we see after that is the one from an alternate timeline.

It seemed longer than needed to be.
The deaths were what was expected since it was heavily assumed the first wave actors would mostly be leaving.
It was an expected ending, but a mostly satisfying one. Just like the end of any big comic event that has shit like half the Galaxy fighting or half the world killed.

Honestly one of the most overrated movies I've seen in a while. First 2 hours was a snoozefest and the last hour only had one good scene between Thanos and Captain America. Most of it felt like I was watching a series of coincidences happening one after another so it dragged the movie on for wayyyy too long

I did the impossible and pushed all of my problems with it to the side right up until the credits started rolling. I'm glad I had the chance to enjoy it as much as I could the first time, but the second I actually started to think about it it all fell apart. This was a terrible sequel to Infinity War.
