There's technically no reason to call her MJ. It's wishy washy bullshit because she's technically the replacement. If she was actually likeable, She would carry her own without using the MJ nickname. Who is she anyway? Scarcely used in Homecoming and we're expected to believe Peter would like her. She isn't that hot and her attitude is confrontational. Compare that to Raimi MJ or even Webb Stacey ans you'll find that she's lacking appeal for a relationship. She should have just been a non romantic side character like in Homecoming.

According to the Director they didn't want to make Gwen and Mary Jane so they made their own OC but they also wanted to pull an Easter Egg bullshit for the fans with the MJ thing. Literally all the actors in the MCU are shorter than the 616 height of their characters, from Scarjo to Hemsworth. Hemsworth is 3.5 inches shorter than Thor and Holland is 3 inches shorter than Spider-Man.
What matters is their relative height on screen.

Good thing that's not at all what I said then.

They wanted someone who would look noticeably shorter than Evans, RDJ+lifts and who Hemsworth would tower over, it's all about relative height.
There's a 4 inches differences between Spidey and Cap and a 5 inches difference between Holland and Evans. There's a 3 inches difference between Spidey and Widow and a 4 inches difference between Holland and Scarjo. Him and Saldana are the same size. It's absolutely not unreasonable.

And that's retarded. Regardless of RDJ's obvious complexes it's correct to case Spider-Man as someone noticeably shorter than the average Avenger.

As I just said, that's true of everyone in the MCU (save Bautista and Jackson). The difference is bigger for RDJ and that's why it makes sense for them to use lifts and camera tricks, again regardless of Bobby's inadequacies.

Eh it always depends on the artist but I never really care much about comic heights and shit because they always fluctuate. Peter is drawn as tall as Cap but lankier and sometimes he looks like he's 4'0 compared to him. He cna honestly be any height they want and since they are going for a teen Spidey Holland's height is fine.

I think only Thor and the Asgardians are suppose to be super tall in the comics and even then artist forget that.
