>>107066619Selick is working on a movie for Netflix called Wendell and Wild, Gaiman wrote all the episodes for the adaptation of he and Terry Pratchett's book Good Omens that Amazon and BBC are making.
Gaiman's wrote lots of stuff since Graveyard Book (short stories, TV episodes, co-writes and so on) but the only proper novel is The Ocean at the End of the Lane. It's not really a kids book but does sort of feature a child protagonist (it's told in flashback) and has similar themes to Coraline.
In briefest possible terms it's about a boy who finds out his neighbor is a cute and weird 11 year old girl named Lettie who lives with her equally weird grandma and mother (who all have something ambiguously supernatural going on, they're basically witches). He and Lettie try to get to the bottom of strange stuff going on around the village and send a creature that's been throwing stuff at people back to its own world but during the process of casting a spell he doesn't follow Lettie's directions and a worm gets stuck in his foot that he pulls out when he gets home, and the next day a creepy nanny that his parents hired shows up who his sister and everyone else likes but is cruel to him in private,
and also at one point he walks on his dad fucking her. Nanny starts to turn everyone against him, things get progressively darker and more fantastical, and at the end
Lettie has to sacrifice her life for him.It would make for good stop motion, but again someone else has the rights unfortunately.
