>>105909923But that's the whole thing: isn't she? There is no theoretical upper limit to her powers. It's just like how the Hulk is "the strongest there is" and nobody ever bothered to cap his strength. Zatanna's rules are simple: if she says the words of a spell backwards, it happens, no matter what that spell actually is. Multiple writers over decades have abided by this rule, but nobody wants to deal with the fact that it essentially makes Zatanna omnipotent.
It's a situation that is inevitably going to blow up in everyone's faces. Somebody's going to set off the powder keg sooner or later. It's probably not a good idea for it to be Bendis, but he seems a likely candidate based on his past treatment of Wanda. But even if he doesn't do it, it feels like it's only a matter of time before some OTHER writer gets a hold of Zatanna and realizes, "Oh, hey, this fun, sexy character is the most powerful entity in the entire DC Comics multiverse." This is an inevitable result of the way her powers have grown and developed over the last couple of decades. Even Morrison contributed to this in Seven Soldiers.
